What are lash extensions and how are they applied?
EYELASH EXTENSIONS

Frequently Asked Questions

Eyelash extensions are single synthetic lashes applied directly to the natural lash, close to (but not touching) the lash line with a semi-permanent bonding adhesive. A single extension is applied to a single lash, leaving the eyelashes and eyelids to move freely. They are applied carefully, one by one using specially designed tweezers. The whole process normally takes 1 – 2 hours depending on how many lashes are applied.

How long do they last?

With the correct application & aftercare your lashes should last up to 4-6 weeks.

Is the procedure painful?

Applied correctly the procedure is not painful, in fact you will barely feel anything and many clients actually drift off to sleep.

How often do I need them refilled?.

Our natural lash cycle is 60-90 days. All lashes are at different stages in their cycle, some new, some due to fall out. Because your extensions are attached to your lashes they will fall out when your natural lash sheds. Your natural lashes will continue to grow, in some cases the lash extension will become too long or may twist. Therefore it is recommended that you come in every 2 to 4 weeks for maintenance and refills.

Do I have to have my extensions refilled?

No, if you do not wish to get your extensions refilled that is fine, just let them all eventually fall away or come in and have them removed.

Will they damage my natural lashes?

If your extensions are applied by a trained, experienced Lash technician, then no, extensions will not damage your natural lashes. The key to not damaging your natural lash is in the isolation process. When more than one of your natural lashes is stuck together with clumps of glue it will cause your lashes to shed prematurely and can leave gaps in the lash line.

How many lashes are applied?

It varies on what the client wants and how many lashes they have. Usually between 60 and 80 per eye, but anywhere up to 120 or more.

What if I want to remove my lashes?

If for any reason you would like to remove your extensions it is very important you do not try and remove them yourself as you will pull out your own natural lashes. Please come in and get them removed by your lash technician.

Can I wear mascara with lash extensions on?

You can wear mascara, just not waterproof mascara. Most clients find they no longer need to wear mascara. Make sure you only apply it to the ends to create volume, otherwise your extensions may clump and look unnatural.

How do I take care of my lashes?

There is not too much you have to do to keep your lashes looking amazing and lasting as long as possible. See the Lash Aftercare download for more information.
